MAIN OBJECTIVES

CSACEFA Oyo State was formed to advance Public Education (PE) through Policy Advocacy (PA), Civic Engagement (CE), Research & Development (R&D), Awareness Creation (AC) and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to all NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, working in the area of education.

Membership of the Coalition shall be by a registration fee and annual subscription.

Aims & Objectives

To contribute to the shaping of education policies, programmes and projects. To positively influence actions of various education stakeholders in Oyo State. To provide a platform for monitoring, evaluating and reviewing of various education programmes and interventions. To provide a platform for engaging in wider sub-regional, regional and global Education For All (EFA) processes and campaigns. To enable effective platform for information sharing, knowledge acquisition, linkages and networking. To advocate for adequate budgetary allocation and timely releases of allocation in Oyo State.

Global Action Week For Education 2019

MAKING THE RIGHT TO AN INCLUSIVE, EQUITABLE, QUALITY FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION A REALITY:
MY EDUCATION, MY RIGHT(S)

GCE’s Global Action Week for Education in 2019 will place between the 24th April and 1st of May, using a human rights-based approach to education and supporting the implementing of the full SDG4 agenda.

This theme may blend different approaches depending on context and relevance to our members:
• A focus on children and youth with disabilities, calling for accessible and inclusive school infrastructures and materials, teachers training including for teachers with disabilities;
• A focus on gender disparities, and LGBTI rights;
• A focus on vulnerable, disadvantaged and poor communities (including child labourers);
• A focus on indigenous people;
• A focus on migrants/ refugees and students in the conflict zone;
• A focus on teachers as per the World Teacher’s Day 2018 slogan “The right to education is the right to a qualified teacher”.

A One-Day Workshop on Fundraising Techniques

A One-Day Workshop on Fundraising Techniques.

This was organised for member organizations of CSACEFA Oyo State Chapter. It covered the following topics:
1. Various ways of raising funds for our works.
2. How to use social media to raise funds
3. Proposal writing and development
4. Proposal models using examples of winning proposals.
5. Components of Logic Frameworks using the Standard model, and the models of USAID, DFID and EU Commission
6. Issues and challenges around proposal writing.
12 member organizations with 2 representatives (members of staff) participated in the workshop, which was certificated.

The workshop is a part of Capacity Building/Development Strategy of CSACEFA Oyo State Chapter towards sustainability of the works of member organisations. It was supported by Educare Trust and Relevant Actions International.

CSACEFA Oyo State Chapter Launches its Information System

On Wednesday December 5, 2018, the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education For All (CSACEFA) Oyo State Chapter launched her Information System – CSACEFA Information System (CIS) which comprises:

2. EduVoice, the official Newsletter of CSACEFA Oyo State Chapter
3. Facebook page: Csacefa Pacesetter
4. Twitter: @csacefaoyo

The CIS was launched by the representatives of ANCOPSS, NUT, SUBEB and Oyo State Ministry of Education., who also gave goodwill messages at the event. Before the launching, the Coordinator of CSACEFA presented a paper on Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA).

The three print media organisations present were:
1. The Nigerian Tribune

3. The Punch
